Our Mission

Talent is everywhere. Equipment, coaching, and chances aren't.

Blades Without Borders grows and develops the sport of fencing among youth in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the broader Caribbean, and other under-resourced communities. We believe a kid's zip code or bank balance should never decide whether they get to pick up a blade.

So we provide the gear, the coaching, the competitions, and the leadership experience — and we put young people in charge of making it happen.

What We Do

Four ways we move the sport forward

Gear Up

Masks, jackets, gloves, and blades cost real money. We collect, refurbish, and ship fencing equipment and apparel to athletes and clubs that need it — so the only barrier left is how hard you train.

Coach the Coaches

We invest in local coaches and referees through training and certification support. When knowledge stays in the community, the sport keeps growing long after we leave.

The Caribbean Classic

Our flagship competition brings young fencers together to compete, connect, and represent their islands and communities — building the kind of memories and rivalries that make a sport feel like home.

Youth Leadership

Our programs are designed and run by students. Through the Youth Leadership Council, teens take on real responsibility — and walk away with skills that outlast any single season.

Youth Leadership Council

Run by students, for students

BWB is genuinely youth-led — minors can even serve on our board. The Youth Leadership Council is where teens take the wheel. Pick a role and grow into it.

Event Directors

Plan and run tournaments and clinics — logistics, scheduling, and game-day calls.

Fencing Ambassadors

Be the face of BWB in your school, club, and island. Recruit, welcome, and inspire.

Content Creators

Tell our story in video, photo, and posts. Make fencing look as cool as it feels.

Pen Pal Mentors

Connect across borders. Support a younger fencer with encouragement and advice.
